Commonly asked questions

How do entrepreneurs apply?

If you’re an entrepreneur starting or expanding a business in Lane County submit a copy of your completed business plan to the Lane Venture Forum.

If you’re an investor, contact us for more information.

What types of businesses should apply?

Businesses with a unique opportunity, a plan for exponential growth and a viable investment opportunity.

What will investors expect in return?

Venture capital may or may not be right for your business. Investors typically expect a much greater rate of return on their investment due to the greater risks involved in new ventures. Consider your options and ask questions for further details prior to seeking investment capital. Our staff will also be pleased to refer you to other financial resources in the area.

How long does it take before an entrepreneur can make a presentation?

An entrepreneur that presents a plan for consideration and is well prepared can present to the forum in a little as six weeks. The factors that will determine how long it takes include how well prepared the entrepreneur is, how seamless their plan is and the timing of the next possible scheduled forum date.

Lane Venture Forum Steps

  1. Entrepreneurs submit their plan to the Lane Venture Forum coordinator.

  2. Entrepreneurs are advised to apply or to submit additional information prior to plan review.

  3. Plans are reviewed by Business Plan Review Panel. Entrepreneurs receive feedback.

  4. Plans accepted by the panel are scheduled for a rehearsal presentation.

  5. Investors are invited to attend formal presentation.
