Workforce Development
Education
The Chamber hosts a variety of roundtables, seminars and
an annual conference (called WorkTrends) that focus on
helping businesses address their workforce development
needs and issues. Please see our event
calendar for upcoming events.
Career
Fair
Each spring the Chamber co-produces a county-wide career
fair which introduces area employers to their future
workforce (high school students from throughout the
area). Over 2000 students and 79 employers participated
in the 2005 fair. Employers exhibit at the fair and
conduct mock interviews.
School-to-Work
Programs
Area businesses are encouraged to support the
educational community and participate in career
enrichment programs. The Chamber is actively seeking
those businesses that are interested in providing job
shadows, provide site visits or speak at educational
institutions throughout the area.
An Education Committee
works to promote and expand business and education
partnership opportunities, promotes dialogue on issues
impacting education and advocates for financial
stability for school.
