high marks for the excellence of its health care
providers. Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene and

top-notch clinics that specialize in such areas as
emergency care, cancer care, family planning, substance
abuse and addiction, allergies and asthma, women's health,
and health care for veterans.
In addition, more then 700
physicians, dentists, and mental health specialists in
private practice offer traditional and alternative methods
of care to help assure the health and happiness of all
citizens.

Emergency
Assistance
The provision of emergency assistance to low income
individuals and families is coordinated by a group of
non-profit organizations and churches. In order to
emphasize coordination, a centralized direct referral
system is provided by Infoline, a non-profit information
and referral agency. Emergency food, shelter, and medical
assistance are the most common forms of assistance
